Program Overview

We pair things off at The Music Studio: Parent with child, (Music for the Young through Creative Keyboard); work with play; solos with ensembles; private lessons with Piano Classes; younger students with older; preparation with opportunity.

Parent and child play together

From the beginning, we twin the physical experience of music – moving, listening, singing, and playing – with the mental processes of note-reading, counting, and understanding.  Our objective in all this musical Noah’s Ark is to balance learning with fun. Since learning and fun are closely related to age, age is how we group our different programs.

  • Music for the Young: 2 to young 4-year-olds
  • Music Fundamentals: 4 to 8-year-olds
  • The Piano Program: 7 and older
  • Recreational Piano: 18-year-olds and older

For most of Music Fundamentals and all of The Piano Program, our sessions run from September through June.  Music for the Young and Recreational Piano courses span from four to ten sessions and start at various points during the year.  Let’s Begin, an introduction to our music fundamentals program, is offered during the summer and January.   Music for the Very Young classes are 50 minutes long. All other classes are one very musically rich hour. Scheduling and overview information on our various programs can be found by clicking on the courses in the upper left.
